ALLEN HALL DEAD Passed Away at His Farm in Sherman Township Tuesday Night - Was ill Only a Few Minutes.
Allen Hall, one of the early pioneers of Sherman township passed away at his farm Tureday morning, after an illness of only a few minutes. He was down at the farm and was accompanied by his grand-daughter Miss Winnie Kerstetter. In the night he was taken ill with severe pains in the stomach and got up and dressed. His niece mixed him up some camphor, the only stimulant there was in the house and for a time seemed better. As soon after taken ill, DR. Speaker and his daughter, Mrs. Kerstetter were telephoned for at Manson, but before they arrived he had passed away.

He chose his life companion when he was about 21 years old, and on October 4, 1847, he was united in holy wedlock to Miss Lucinda Patterson, of Genesee County, New York. They moved to Illinois, and later to Iowa.

Brother Hall was the father of six children, five of whom survive to mourn today. The children are: Mrs Emily Riley of Battle Creek, Michigan; Mrs Clara Kerstetter of Manson; John Hall of Dallas Center, Iowa; Judson Hall of Manson; Elmer Hall of Manson; Mrs Sara Boyce who died the same year the mother passed away.

The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the M.E. Church and the body interred in Rose Hill. Rev. McBurney preached the funeral sermon and a large concourse of old friends, neighbors and relatives were present and escorted the body to its last resting place.
