George W. Ridenour, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Ridenour, was born at Rochester, Cedar county, Iowa on February 5, 1863 (sic) and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joe Gordon, of Auburn, Iowa, June 6, 1927, aged 64 (sic) years, 4 months, and one day. At about the age of 20 years he moved with his parents (sic) to Paton, Iowa. In 1887 (sic) he was united in marriage to Miss Clara Maude Savitts, of Ogden, Iowa. To this union were born five children: Roy F. Ridenour of Auburn, Jody Ridenour, who died at the age of 2 years, Mrs. Ethel Shoemaker of Lanesboro, Ralph C. Ridenour of Lanesboro, and Blanche R. Gordon of Auburn, with whom he made his home since the death of his wife on February 22, 1925. About 30 years ago he united with the Presbyterian church in Lake City. Mr. Ridenour had been in failing health for the past 18 months and for about the last two months his suffering had been very intense but during all this time he exercised the greatest of patience and only showed consideration for those who ministered to him. He leaves to mourn his four children, eleven grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, besides many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Lake City on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. J.E. Spencer, assisted by Rev. J. Caldwell of Auburn. A quartet composed of Mrs. Spencer, Mrs. Adams, Elmer Burch, and W.C. Hungerfard accompanied by Mrs. Crawford furnished the music. Burial was made in the Lake City cemetery. The pall bearers were Milton and Norman Colegrove, W.L. Hobbs, John Van Raden, Arthur Baker, and Jack Duel.

NOTE-
George W. Ridenour was born 5 Feb 1862 to Jacob B. and Mary A. Fulwider Ridenour. His mother, Mary, died when he was ten days old. George moved to Paton, Iowa with his father and sibblings in 1880. George married Clara M. Savitts on 14 April 1886. He was aged 65 years 4 months and one day at death.
