Ethel Mae Blasey, daughter of Samuel Edward and Eliza Jane Halderman Anderson, was born March 20, 1909 at Rockwell City, Iowa. She passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Sunny Knoll Care Centre in Rockwell City, at the age of ninety-eight years.

Ethel graduated from Rockwell City High School with the Class of 1928. On February 14, 1929, she was united in marriage to Durl Delos Blasey at Rockwell City. The couple made their home on a farm north of Rockwell City, where Ethel was a homemaker most of her life. In 1963, they retired and moved to Rockwell City. Durl passed away in 1973. In 1980, Ethel made her home at Golden Buckle Apartments. In 2001, she became a resident of the Sunny Knoll Care Centre. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband; sons, David and Robert Blasey; her parents; sisters, Florence Allison, Coryll Hansen, Edith Hazlett, and Ruth Meusburger; and brothers, Cecil, Lionel, Arthur, Bert, Edward, and Samuel Anderson. She is survived by her sons, James Blasey and his wife Jennie of Rockwell City, Donald Blasey of Rockwell City, and Dennis Blasey and his wife Barbara of Genesee,, Idaho; daughter-in-law Rose Blasey of Bellevue, Nebraska; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
