BENNER-WILLIAMS

The home of Mrs. Edith A. Williams of this city was the scene of a festal occasion on Wednesday evening October 22, 1902, when was witnessed the marriage of Miss Laura Williams to Angus Benner. About fifty relatives and friends were present.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. C.S. McKinney after which a sumptuous wedding dinner was in waiting to which all present did ample justice. The bride is the only daughter of Mrs. Edith Williams, and is a bright and charming young lady, well and favorably known to our people. She has been attending school in Rockwell city and by another year would have graduated. Mr. Benner is the youngest son of Mrs. Sarah Benner of this place. He is a young man of steady habits and upright character, and if energy and enterprise count he must achieve success.

Out of town guests were Will Crouch, mayor of Somers, and wife; Mr. and Mrs. Royalty of Richards; Mr. and Mrs. Sheilds of Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. Prentice, of Newell.

The entertainment was much heightened by music and song, in which the bride took part. Grandpa Williams was in his glory, reciting an original poem which he had written for the occasion and all went merry as a marriage bell.
