"Sister Mary Virginia Hagarty Dies After Long Illness"

Sr. Mary Virginia Hagarty died December 28, 1927 at her home at Nazareth Academy, LaGrange, IL. after a lingering illness of several months duration.
Sister Mary Virginia Hagarty was formerly Miss Gertrude Hagarty, daughter of Mr & Mrs. Lawrence (Anna-Doyle)Hagarty, now deceased, and she spent her early years in the vicinity, at her home south of town. Later, she became a member of the Community of the Sisters of St. Joseph, where she was occupied for a number of years in the high school work and she was especially adapted to that position, having a charming personality and exceeding patience. She was an untiring worker, accomplishing much good, and he death is greatly felt by the members of her community. She leaves to mourn her loss the following brothers and sisters:
P.J. (Patrick Joseph) Hagarty,of Fullerton Nebraska; Lon Hagarty of Greene; Mrs. (Agatha)Earl Bailey, of Gaithersburg, MD; Mrs. Bessie Nevins, of Greene=the later having spent the past few weeks at LaGrange with her sister.

The many friends of the deceased extend their sympathy to the sorrowing relatives."
