Walter Weiland killed in Farm Accident last Wednesday

Walter Edwin Weiland, 45, was killed in a farm accident at his farm southwest of Greene last Wednesday. Mr. Weiland died of injuries substained when a tractor he was driving flipped over backwards when he was attempting to pull a truck loaded with corn that was stuck in the field.

Mr. Weiland was born April 4, 1920, at Bristow, son of Ralph and Grace, nee Menken, Weiland. He was married to Maxine Shook and the couple spent their married life farming near Bristow.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine, one son Dennis, 20 and one daughter Diane, 17 both at home; his mother, Grace Weiland of Bristow and two brothers, John and Paul both of Bristow.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Frist Methodist church in Greene with Rev. Wayne Gjerde, pastor, officiating. Reid's Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
