Rites Held for Ralph Weiland, 84Ralph Weiland, 84, passed away March 20th at the Lutheran Hospital at Hampton where he had been a patient for the past four weeks.
Mr. Weiland was born November 5, 1877, in Germany, the youngest of five children, born to John R. and Hilke (Siebens) Weiland, all of whom preceded him in death.
At the age of 2 he came to the United States with his family and settling in Butler County. He was married to Grace Menken on January 1, 1910, and to this union three sons were born, John R., Walter E. and Paul E. all of Bristow.
Survivors include his wife, Grace; the three sons; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives.
Mr. Weiland was a farmer and lived on a farm 4 miles north of Bristow for 65 years. He discontinued farming in 1944 and moved into Bristow where he continued to live until his death.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Reformed church and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Relatives and friends from Clara [probably Clara City], Minnesota, Williams, Webster City, Waterloo, Charles City, Nashua, Dumont, Greene, Ackley, Kesley, Holland, Grundy Center, Nevada, Allison, Rudd and Janesville attended the services.
