Newspaper and dates not identified for the clippings below

Mrs. Wm. Gough died at her home at this place last Thurday, May 11. She had been troubled with chronic bronchitis and heart disease for a long time but her serious sickness was only of a few days duration. The fall she had recently perhaps hastened her death, also. The funeral services were held in the M.E. Church at this place Saturday afternon. Rev. Batcheller preaching a very able sermon, using as his text the appropriate word of Psa. 116-15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his Saints."

Obituary

Susanna Walsh was born July 21, 1822, in Balinslow county, West Mead Ireland. She was converted to God when she was six years old and united with the Wesleyan Methodist church of which she was a faithful member until 1848, when she emigrated to this country and identified herself with the M.E. church in the state of New York. From thence she removed to Illinois in 1850. She was united in marriage to the Rev. William Gough in Pittsfield, Pike County, Ill., March 9, 1852. There were born to them eight children, six of who still survive, two having passed to the Glory Land. She departed this life May 11, 1999 at the age of 76 years 9 months and 20 days. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, a consistent Christian. She died as she lived fully trusting her Savior. Death to her had no terror, she longed to go. The end was peaceful like sinking into sleep. She has joined the bridal cortege and drank of the new wine.

(She died May 11, 1899 in Bristow, Butler County, Iowa)
