Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Rudd Methodist Church for Monday afternoon at her home, Mrs. I.V. Hodgin who died following a long illness. The services were conducted by the Rev. G. W. Turner of Cresco, assisted by the Rev. S. J. Baldwin of Rudd.

Mrs. Hodgin was born Aug 21, 1869. Mr. and Mrs. Hodgin were married Dec. 5, 1886, at Milltown S. D. After attending church services, they went to the home of the bride-tobe, the Wilson Shearer home, and were married.

After living at Milltown for eight years, they with their small daughter, came to a farm four miles north of Greene in 1894. They made the trip, which required one week, in a covered wagon, camping each night. Behind the wagon was a horse hitched to a sring wagon. They later moved to Nora Junction, where they kept a cafe. From there, they moved to a farm near Greene. During the summer of 1927 they moved to Rudd.

She was a church member and attended services as long as she was able. They not only were married on Sunday, but three of their children were born on Sunday. Surviving are her widower, four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Julia Shatzer, Mrs. C.E. Fisher, Miss Libbie Hodgin, Mrs. Lester Larson, Luther and Evert Hodgin, and several grandchildren and great granchildren.
