Ronald G. Alberts, 71, of Shell Rock, Iowa passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2006 at the Allison Health Care Center in Allison, Iowa.

Ron was born on July 4, 1935, the son of John and Gladys (Aukes) Alberts in Grundy County, near Stout, Iowa.

He attended Grundy and Butler county country schools. Following his education, he started to farm by Parkersburg and then Shell Rock, Iowa. He was in the Iowa National Guard from 1954 until 1960. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Hansen on December 14, 1959 at the First Presbyterian Church in Aplington, Iowa. He sold Rawleigh Products and then worked on bridge construction crews for a couple of years. He helped build the New Hartford elevator and then became employed by Clay Equipment and Top Air for 34 years. He retired from Top Air in July of 2000.

He enjoyed his yard work, carpentry and his cats, but most especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth Ann of Shell Rock, Iowa; three daughters and their spouses, Sarah (Johnnie) Mitchell of Bethel, Oklahoma, Sandra (Steve) Brustkern of Tripoli, Iowa and Sheryl (Dale) Dorman of Plainfield, Iowa; three grandchildren, Beth Smith, James (Debbie) Marsh and Paul Boweter; two step grandchildren, Jonathon and Alysha Brustkern; three great grandchildren, Rachael Smith, Caleb and Conner Marsh; three brothers, Roger (Carol) Alberts of Las Vegas, Nevada, Russell (Marla) Alberts and Duane (Debby) Alberts both of Parkersburg, Iowa and by a sister, Dorothy (Dean) Chapman of Wonewoc, Wisconsin.

His parents, great grandson in infancy and a sister, Evelyn Alberts in infancy preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Stout Gospel Hall in Stout, Iowa.

Burial will be in the Coster Cemetery rural Shell Rock, Iowa.

Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Shell Rock, Iowa and one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Memorials may be directed to the family and a memorial will be established at a later date.
