Naomia M. Bolton, 93, of Shell Rock, Iowa passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Shell Rock Health Care Center in Shell Rock.

Naomia Mae was born on July 11, 1915, the daughter of Chester A. and Muriel D. (Parsons) Harmon on a farm north of New Hartford, Iowa in Beaver Township, Butler County.

In 1918, she and her family moved to a farm near Pequot, then into Pine River, Minnesota. The family moved to Waterloo, Iowa in 1920. She was baptized at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Waterloo on Easter Sunday in 1925 and confirmed on April 10, 1927 at St. Paul's Methodist Church. She attended John Fisk school in Waterloo until 1928, when her family moved to LaPorte City, Iowa. She graduated in 1934 with a State Normal Training certificate from LaPorte City High school. Naomia played 1st violin all thru school. In 1936, she spent a year in Indianapolis, Indiana, working as a clerk in a dry cleaning pick-up shop, owned by her aunt, Hazel Harmon Speakman. On December 20, 1937, she was united in marriage to Wade N. Bolton at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They made their first home on a farm near Parkersburg for two years and in February of 1940, they moved to a farm southwest of Shell Rock, Iowa to the present time.

She attended the Finchford Community Bible Church for over 50 years. Naomia was an active member of the Ladies Aid when it was organized, assisted the church "Sunshiners" for several years, charter member of the West Fork Stitch & Chatter Club, and a Rebecca Lodge member since 1957. She enjoyed playing cards and belonging to the neighborhood card club. Naomia accompanied her husband and assisted him on the road the last five years he worked for I.C.I. association. She enjoyed cooking, home making, entertaining, traveling, friends, flowers and wild life that she could watch from her kitchen window. Most of all, she loved and enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors are her two children, son, David (Anita) Bolton of Corning, California and daughter, Judy (Roger) Jensen of Badger, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Teresa Mae (Brian) Jensen Hirt, Tana Jo (Tim) Jensen Saddler, Tarri Sue (Troy) Jensen McDaniel, Daniel L. (Michelle) Bolton, Judith M. Bolton, Bonny L. Bolton and Cynthia L. (Jonathon) Bolton Takagi; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Briden of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Joyce (Sally) Kurt of Waterloo, Iowa; and a brother, Kenneth Harmon of Crystal, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Wade on June 6, 2000 and by a sister, Hazel Glassel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Finchford Community Bible Church in Finchford, Iowa with Pastor Jim Bauer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Finchford Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, Iowa with a Rebecca Lodge service at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.

Visitation also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Memorials may be left to the family.
