Roger Wamsley, 81, of Waverly, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at his home north of Waverly.

Roger was born June 22, 1926 in Clarksville, Iowa the son of Raymond and Mildred (Sherburne) Wamsley.

He graduated from Nashua High School and then enlisted in the United States Army. Roger was united in marriage to Ardis in Nashua, Iowa. To this union their daughter Jennifer was born. He drove school bus for the Waverly-Shell Rock school district for over 10 years. He enjoyed spending time on his farm and taking care of his animals. He especially liked caring for his many dogs and horses.

Roger is survived by his daughter Jennifer of Shell Rock, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one sister, Marian Wamsley, and two brothers Ron Wamsley and Gordon Wamsley.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008, 10:30 am at the Horton Baptist Church, rural Waverly, with burial in the Lynwood Cemetery, Clarksville.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is in charge of arrangements.
