CLARKSVILLE - Donald C. Ruth, 78, of Clarksville, died at home Saturday, July 18,.

He was born Jan. 5, 1932, son of August and Clara Ruth, on his parents' farm in Bremer County. He married Florence Frey Dec. 28, 1950; they were later divorced. He married Mary Skubinna Sept. 17, 1982, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mr. Ruth worked at a creamery in Benson and later at the creamery in Sumner. He did correspondence courses for TV repair and opened his own TV repair business in Sumner and later in Grundy Center and Parkersburg, retiring in 1993.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Sharon (Ron) Shoup of Grundy Center; two sons, Ron (Rose) of Carroll and Jeff (Teri) of Anoka, Minn.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph; two sisters, Marjorie Pruin and Joyce Rademaker; and a stepson, Neil (Donna) Skubinna of Swansborough, N.C.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Michael; a grandson, Scott; two brothers, John and Ed; and a sister, Doris Ward.

Memorial Services: will be held at a later date. Iowa Cremation Society, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.

Donald greatly enjoyed fishing. He is also survived by Peanut, his beloved cat.
