Ruth Leyen, 84, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2007, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa.

Memorial services for Ruth Leyen will be 2:00 pm Thursday at the Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel.

Inurnment will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls.

Ruth Adelmund was born May 19, 1923, at Parkersburg, Iowa, the daughter of William and Minnie [Weibrand] Adelmund. She attended the Parkersburg Community Schools. On August 7, 1943, Ruth was united in marriage to Charles John Leyen at Waukomis, Oklahoma. To this union four children were born: Terry, Randy, Charleen, and Thomas. The couple lived at many locations during Charles carrier with the United States Air Force. After his military retirement they settled in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She was employed as a waitress with the Scenic City Cafe and was also a machine operator with General Publishing and Binding of Iowa Falls.

Ruth Leyen is survived by her children: Terry [Linda] Leyen of Kittrell, North Carolina, Randy [Terry] Leyen of O'Fallon, Missouri, Charleen Warmbier of Concord, North Carolina,
Thomas [Belinda] Leyen of Sumter, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren; seven great grand children; one sister: Minnie [James] Clar of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and one brother: Doug [Ruth] Adelmund of Parkersburg, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Minnie Adelmund; her husband: Charles J. Leyen; two sisters: Suzie Syhlman and Alline Bakker; three brothers: George Adelmund, Abbie Adelmund, and William Adelmund; and one granddaughter: Tracie Renee Leyen.
