K. D. Rose Succumbs After Long Illness—Resident of Bristow Nearly 30 Years—Well Known In Greene—Came From Canada With Sproul Family In 1882—K. D. Rose, Bristow, 70 years old, died at his home Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock, according to word received by his cousin, Walter McEwen. Mr. Rose has been ill for many months, having spent considerable time at Iowa City, and since returning to his home he has been tenderly cared for by the members of his family. Mrs. Rose has been a resident of Butler county for 50 years and is well known in Greene.
Mr. Rose came to Butler county from Canada with the Andrew Sproul family in 1882, who located on a farm near Greene with whom he lived for several years.
November 25, 1895, he was married to Miss Martha J. Minert at Aredale. They resided on a farm near Aredale for 12 years, then moving to Bristow, which for 29 years has been their home.
Funeral serviced will be held at the home, Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock.
