New Hartford Pioneer Woman Died Thursday

New Hartford. Jan. 3. - - Mrs. E. S. Cortright died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. W. Dove on Thursday, at the age of 87 years. Mrs. Cortright has been failing for the past year and has been quite feeble for the past three months. She came with her husband to New Hartford in the Spring of 1863, when the county was new and moved to a farm three miles north of this place where they lived until about nineteen years ago, when her husband died. After this she made her home with her daughter at this place. Three children were born to this union. One son, E. J. Cortright, preceded her in death. Mrs. W. W. Dove and George Cortright of this place, remaining in the immediate family, besides several grandchildren and other relatives in Illinois. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the home of her daughter. Rev. Farris of Frederika, a former pastor of the Methodist church, will have charge.
