The death of Mrs. Susan Lusted occurred May 23, after a severe sickness. Susana Upp was born in Hanover, Penn., October 18, 1831. She was married to Geo Lusted May 19, 1857, at this place. Her husband died Aug. 23, 1892. Mrs. Lusted joined the German Reform church in 1847. In 1856 she was one of the promoters that organized the Methodist church at this place, of which she had been a devoted member ever since. She was loved by all who knew her, for her kind Christian acts, and the community as well as the church loses a true friend and follower. She leaves a brother, John Upp of Lebanon, Kan., besides her children to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church Wednesday at 11:00 o'clock a.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. T. A. Trimble.

The interment was in Lynwood.
