The Iowa Recorder, Greene, IA - Wednesday, March 26, 1947
Shirley Mae Roelf, daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Roelf, of Allison, and Dale E Willey, son of Mr and Mrs Charles V Willey of Greene, were married Wednesday evening in the First Presbyterian church in Greene. The Rev. John Maze of Clarksville, read the candlelight double-ring ceremony.Mrs M. B. Call accompanied Graydon Anderson as he sang "Because" and also played the wedding march.
The bride woere a pale grey suit with white and black accessories and a corsage of red roses.
Mrs Robert Knox, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. She wore a green suit with black accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. Robert Roelf of Independence, brother of the bride, was the best man.
The bride's mother wore a black ensemble and a sweet-pea corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a blue ensemble and a sweet-pea corsage also.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the home of the bride's parents in Allison. The bride's table was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake decorated with a miniature bride and bridegroom. A buffet supper was served to thirty guests.
