Golden Wedding
Saturday, October 25, 1924, was the fifieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. James Pringle and a party of 32 relatives gathered at their home with well filled baskets to help them celebrate the occasion.
The tables were prettily decorated in keeping with the day and menu was carried out in gold as nearly as possible. The two large wedding cakes were worthy of mention. The company was served by three grand daughters, Mesdames Gates, Shook and Kingery. Their daughters, Lissie Hesalroad and Ellen McCracken and one son Elmer were all able to be present.
Mr. and Mrs. Pringle received many appropriate and beautiful gifts, also congratulations from friends absent. The out of town guests pressent were: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pringle, of Shell Rock; Mr and Mrs. C.D. McCracken, of Allison; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Coulon and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Williams of Shell Rock; Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Gillis of Minneapolis, Mrs. Lila Thompson of Huntingdon, Tenn.
Nancy Williams and James Pringle were married at the Williams home, near Clarksville, by the minister of the Antioch church. They went to housekeeping on their farm 8 miles southwest of Greene and there made their home for 37 years, enduring the hardhips of those pioneer days, and enjoying the true comradeship of friends and neighbors characteristic of those days.
Mr. and Mrs. Pringle now live in Greene and have resided in only two houses during the 50 years of their married life. They both enjoy fairly good health and we wish them many more anniversaries. -- A Guest.
