Oscar L. Mead
Senator from the Thirty-ninth district, was born on a farm in Butler county in 1875. Received his education in the rural schools and in Shell Rock high school, afterwards attending business college at Nora Springs seminary. Was married to Gertrude Graham, of Shell Rock, in 1897, and to them have been born two daughters, Zola and Wanda. Has held the offices of township assessor and member of the school board. Is interested in banking, but has been an active farmer all his life. Elected representative in 1916, and re-elected in 1918. Elected senator in 1920.
