William Hesalroad

William Hesalroad resides on section 7. He bought his farm of Mr. Higgins. The farm was first settled by Elias Miller, whose father purchased the land of the government. Mrs. Hesalroad settled here in the spring of 1865. He was born in Prussia, in 1833; emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1855, and settled in Somerset county, in that state, where he married Mary Walbring, a native of Prussia, born October, 1830. She came to Pennsylvania in 1858. The parents of Mr. and Mrs. Hesalroad never came to this country, but resided in Prussia until their death.

Mr. Hesalroad came to Butler county with his family, in 1861. They have five children – William Wesley, born in Pennsylvania; John, Harriet S., Sarah and Lewis W. They lost five in childhood. Mr. Hesalroad’s farm contains 300 acres. They are members of the Christian church.
