Julius Temple resides on section 20. He purchased his farm of D. and M. V. Bragg in 1871. He was born in Heath, Franklin county, Massachusetts, in 1844. His father, John Temple, died in Massachusetts when Julius was a boy. Mr. Temple came to Waterloo, Black Hawk county, in 1858, with his step-father, James Maxwell. He served six months in the army as a member of the 41st regiment of Wisconsin infantry. After the war he returned to Black Hawk county, from thence removed here. He married Miss B. Minor, daughter of John Minor. They have two children, Jessie and John. Mr. Temple’s farm contains 120 acres.
