William B. Phipps was born April 30, 1858 in Cambridge, Story Co., IA to Dr. John B Phipps and Martha Jane Chandler. He died Nov. 16, 1923 in Bristow, Butler Co. IA. Cemetery is unknown. Dr John B Phipps and Martha moved to Cedar Co., MO in early 1870's, their children going with them.
After William B. Phipps divorce from Sarah Jane Conyers 1902 in Springfield, Green Co., MO, married in 1878, Cedar Co., MO, he left the state, going to Bristow, Butler Co., IA. He left behind five children, Grace, Rolin, Anna, William and Charles Julius Phipps, b 1896, a change of life baby, my grandfather. He never talked about his father.
William was a printer and started in the first newspapers in Cedar Co., MO. What happened to him, if remarried, etc. is unknown to me. He may has continued in the news business or a printer.
