George W. Buse - Jan. 12, 1915 - Apr. 01, 2006

George W. Buse, age 91, of Albert City, Iowa, died Saturday, April 01, 2006, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Albert City.

George Wallace Buse was born on January 12, 1915, in Albert City, Iowa, to Fred and Emma (Hill) Buse. He lived with his family in the Albert City area where he attended and graduated from the Albert City School.

On July 3, 1940, George was united in marriage to Marvel Frances Hartung in Canton, South Dakota. The union was blessed with two children, Kevin and Michelle.

They raised their family in rural Albert City where George was engaged in farming. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Marathon, having been baptized in 1950.

In addition to farming, George served on the Board of the Marathon Co-op. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, horseshoe pitching, coffee with friends, Boy Scouts and the Order of the Arrow.

Those left to cherish George’s memory are his wife of over 65 years, Marvel, of Albert City; son Kevin Buse and his wife Shelly of Albert City; daughter Michelle Henderson of Albert City; grandchildren: Melanie Fuchs and her husband Tim, Jordan Buse and Kash Buse; great-grandchildren: Kiley, McKenna and Addisyn Fuchs; and a host of extended family and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents; step-dad Will Jochims; three brothers: Roy, Maynard and Walter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Marathon, Iowa, with Pastor David Schumann officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm, Monday, April 3, 2006, at Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City where the family will greet friends.
