Thomas William “Tom” Bell
October 14, 1954 - February 14, 2018Thomas William “Tom” Bell, 63, of Cedar Creek, Missouri, died on February 14, 2018, following a brief illness.
The only son of William Alexander and Mary Justina (Hartman) Bell, Tom was born in Le Mars on Thursday, October 14, 1954. Later, the family moved to Alta where Tom attended Alta Community School. After graduating, he received training in auto body repair in Sheldon. In 1974, he married Ellen (Ludwig). Subsequently, they had two children, Amy Marie and Thomas Christian. After moving his family to an acreage west of Alta in 1990, Tom converted the old barn into his own auto body repair shop. In 2006, Tom moved to Cedar Creek where he lived the remainder of his years.
Tom was a quiet man who cared deeply for his friends and family. His family will miss his cheeky correspondences via mail and text messages. He had a way with animals and was rarely found without his dog by his side.
Survivors include his daughter, Amy Beecham, and her husband, Shannon; his grandsons, Aiden and Liam Beecham, of Kansas City, Missouri; his son, Tom Bell, and his wife, Meghan; and his granddaughters, Sophia and Eva Bell, of Waterloo; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three sisters: Mary Jean Bell, Ruth Katherine (Kate) Henery, and Diane Laura (Annie) Holstein; and two nephews, Chad Micah and Seth Andrew Henery.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, in Storm Lake at the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at the Alta Community Center. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, Missouri.
