STORM LAKE PILOT TRIBUNE - Thursday, May 16, 1907 - Carrie S Luhmann was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on February 4, 1856. On May 28, 1876 she was married to W.F. Steffen of Storm Lake, who together with one son, R.B. Steffen survives her.

In May 1901 the family moved to Webster, South Dakota. For the past two years she had been a sufferer from cancer of the bowels which finally on May 9 [1907] caused her death. The remains were brought to this city for interment and the funeral was held Sunday, May 12 [1907] from the Lakeside church of which she was formerly a member.

The esteem in which the deceased was held and the sympathy felt for the family was shown by the general attendance of those who had known them so well during the 25 years of their residence in Storm Lake.
