March 16, 1915 - July 6, 2016

Ruth E. Langner, age 101, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

A daughter of John and Anna (Siegmund) Peters, Ruth Emma Peters was born on March 16, 1915, in Hanover, Iowa.

Baptized and confirmed by Reverend H. Wahking at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hanover, Iowa, Ruth married Gerald Langner on February 3, 1938. Subsequently, they were blessed with two children, Robert, born on June 14, 1947, in Storm Lake, Iowa, and Dennis, born February 12, 1951, in Moberly, Missouri.

An active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Ruth will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Robert Langner and Dennis (Susan) Langner, and their son, Shea; as well as extended family members and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter-in-law, five brothers, and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. will last until the beginning of the service at the church. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
