STORM LAKE REGISTER - Tue, Apr 20, 1971 - A well known early day resident of Storm Lake, Lorenzo Sweet, 91, 624 So Dakota St, Sioux Falls, passed away at the Yankton, SD hospital Sunday morning.

Mr Sweet, born Aug 2, 1879 in Storm Lake in partnership with his brother, George, operated the Sweet Brothers road shows out of Storm Lake for about 25 years, presenting their entertainment throughout the US and also made some appearances in Canada.

In 1928 they moved to Sioux Falls. During his residence in Sioux Falls, Mr Sweet was employed by the library from 1922 to 1958.

He was married to the former Gertrude Sasse on July 28, 1926, at Watertown, SD.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday forenoon at the Central Baptist church in Sioux Falls. Committal rites were at the Storm Lake cemetery.

He is survived by his wife; daughters: Connie, Mrs Tony Congelose of Thornwood, NY and Jeanne, Mrs Eugene Simunec of Fairview, SD; two sons: Leonard Daryl of Sioux Falls and Philip of Danbury, Ct; and 8 grandchildren.
