STORM, RAUWORTH, DAWSON, CORDRY, WHEELER

Hawarden Independent - Thursday, August 19, 1954 - Mrs. Edith E. Storm, 83, a resident of this vicinity the past, 12 years, died last Thursday at the Hawarden hospital where she had been about two and a half weeks.

Funeral services were held at the Associated church at 1:30 Sunday with Rev. David Graham of the Congregational church of Hudson officiating. Hal Shoemaker, with Mrs. Shoemaker as accompanist, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The Lord's Prayer. Six of her grandsons, Jim Davison, Dale Green, Stewart Harris, Richard Culling, Ellsworth Clough and Alvin Leuthauser were pall bearers. Burial was in the Storm Lake cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.

Edith Rauworth, third child of William and Miriam Rauworth, natives of Sheffield, England, was born November 24, 1871, at Wilton Center, Will county, IL. She was married to William Ross Storm at Wilton Center on February 24, 1898. After her marriage she moved to Joliet, IL and lived there until 1907 when she moved to Glidden, Iowa. Later she moved to Storm Lake where Mr Storm died in 1923. About 12 years ago she came to Hawarden to live with her daughter, Mrs Fred Dawson.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs Fred Dawson of Hawarden and Mrs Nelson Cordry of Mission, SD; two sons, Raymond of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Charles of Alexandria, LA; one sister, Mrs Clara Wheeler of Chicago; 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Out of town relatives at the funeral were Mr and Mrs Charles Storm of Alexandria, La, Mr and Mrs Raymond Storm of Council Bluffs, Mrs Nelson Cordry and son and daughter of Mission, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. E. Clough of Alta, Iowa, Mrs. Gladys Davis, Duane Wheeler, Ralph Wheeler and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stemstrom of Coon Rapids, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Genter of Glidden, Iowa.
