Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Thu, Feb 1, 1940 - Tribute to Mrs George Siebens, pioneer resident of Storm Lake is being paid at services this Thursday afternoon. Mrs Siebens passed away early Tuesday morning at her home, 6th and Erie, having been ill since Friday. Death resulted from influenza and complications. Interment is in the family plot of the Storm Lake cemetery.

Catherin Sturchler was born Feb 10, 1858 at Peterburg, IL and passed away Jan 30, 1940 at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 20 days.

She received her education at Pekin, IL. On May 8, 1879 she was united in marriage to George Siebens. After residing at that place a little more than 3 years they came to Storm Lake where she has since resided with the exception of a few years in Sioux City.

Mr and Mrs Siebens were the parents of two children: Mrs John Hoch of Sibley and Walter Siebens of St Louis, MO. The latter preceded his mother in death just two weeks ago. A niece, Mrs Norma Conery of Milwaukee, WI began making her home with Mr and Mrs Siebens when she was two years old and lived with them until marriage.

Sixty years of happily married life was observed by Mr and Mrs Siebens on May 8, 1939.

Mr Siebens preceded her in death in Aug 1939. Besides her children she leaves to mourn two grandchildren, Harold Siebens of St Louis, NO and Dr Caroline Hoch of Houston Texas; four great grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs Kathryn Rogers of Spokane, WA and Mrs John Smith of Alta; and a brother, John Stomberg of Alta.
