Storm Lake Pilot - Mar 7, 1929 - Soren Nelson, city employee and a resident of Storm Lake for the past 45 years, passed away at the Swallum hospital about 9 Monday evening. He had many friends in Storm Lake, especially among the employees of the city with whom he worked for many years.

Mr Nelson lived a quiet life at his home 620 Seneca street, which he owned, together with adjacent property. He was born in Denmark Jan 28, 1854, coming to America when 30 years of age. He first settled at Pomeroy but soon came to Storm Lake. He was united with the Lutheran church at the age of 14.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Fiscus Funeral Home. Interment was made in the local cemetery.

Mr Nelson had been in failing health for the past two years and bedfast since January 1st. He had been receiving treatment at the hospital for the past three weeks.

He is survived by two sisters: Mrs S Eskelson of Newell and Mrs R.P. Kaiser of Palmer; and another sister and one brother in Denmark; and 7 nieces and nephews who reside in this vicinity. The funeral was attended by virtually all of his relatives in this country.
