Karen Hunzelman, age 67, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Karen Elizabeth Hunzelman, a daughter of Willard James and Marjorie Elizabeth (Murray) Hunzelman, was born on September 21, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Karen attended West Grade School in Storm Lake, later graduating from Storm Lake High School in 1966. She, then, furthered her education at Drake University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1970.

An active member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, Karen, also, belonged to PEO. In Storm Lake, she worked as a paralegal at the Redenbaugh Law Office, a job she relished. In addition, she loved dogs.

Karen will be remembered for her strong faith and her love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Marjorie Hunzelman, of Lakeside, Iowa; and her brothers, M. James (Lynn) Hunzelman, of Dallas, Texas, and Marshall (Kathy) Hunzelman, of West Des Moines, Iowa; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; extended family members; and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Bill.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
