Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - January 24, 1935 - Samuel Hyde at Fort Dodge, a resident of Storm Lake for many years, died in the Lutheran hospital at Fort Dodge Wednesday afternoon at the age of nearly 80 years.

Although Mr Hyde had been a sufferer with asthma for a number of years, he was not taken seriously ill until the Sunday previous to his death. He was removed to the hospital where death occurred. While residing in Storm Lake, Mr Hyde was employed at the tub and tank factory. After removing from here to Fort Dodge 12 years ago he was employed in the tub and tank factory there for a number of years.

Surviving are 7 children: Ed, Bert, Roy, Dilman, and Donald, all of in or near Fort Dodge; Mrs Art Anderson of Storm Lake, and Mrs Oliver Long; and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Fort Dodge Friday afternoon. The body was brought to Storm Lake and funeral services were held from the Hughes Funeral home Saturday afternoon. Interment was in the Storm Lake cemetery.

All of the children with the exception of the daughter, Pearl, were with their father when death came.

Mr Hyde was preceded in death by his wife and four children: Leslie Vern Hyde, Mrs Ray Stone, Iva Merle Hyde, and Gertrude Mae Hyde.
