April 28, 1916 - Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - Harriett Ada Mills was born at Charleston, Illinois, April 7, 1845. When yet a young girl, the family moved to Mason, Illinois, where on January 1, 1868, she was united in marriage with Henry T Hoxsey, who survives her.

Two sons were born to them, Dr. Robert P Hoxsey of Red Cloud, NE and Edward D Hoxsey of Sioux City. She is also survived by two brothers, Geo and Sinclair Mills of Mason, Illinois and sisters: Mrs Aline Wade of Mason, Illinois and Mrs Bailie of Storm Lake.

In 1878 the family moved to Friend, NE which continued to be their home until 1903, when they moved to Storm Lake where the remaining years of her life were spent.

She was mother to Aline Mills Mitchell, taking her into her home and affections when she was a little child following the death of her mother, and for the past two years has mothered the motherless children of her son, Edward, Clifford and Genevieve. Hers was distinctly a life of service to others and the reward will surely come. She was a member of the Lakeside Presbyterian church of Storm Lake in whose service she was always faithful.

She died on Easter morning, Sunday April 28 at 5:10 o'clock.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ambler at the Chas. H.J. Mitchell home on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and interment was made in the Storm Lake cemetery. Very touching music was furnished by Mrs. Morton Hughes, Mrs. Robert Bleakley, Don LaGrange, and Wilbur Kaufman.

Those from out of town who were present at the services were Dr. K.C. Hoxsey of Red Cloud, Nebr; Ed Hoxsey of Sioux City; G.T. Miller of Mason, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Mills of Chicago; R.M. Bailie of Des Moines; and Mrs. Murray of Grundy Center, Ia.
