Frank Otto Beckman
April 11, 1863 - April 4, 1932

Albert City.— Frank Otto Beckman was born in Smaland, Sweden, on April 11, 1863. In the fall of 1883 at the age of 24 [sic] years, he emigrated [sic] to Buena Vista county, locating at Linn Grove.

On March 8, 1894, he married Amanda Anderson of Cherokee. To their union five children were born, all living.

Upon coming to Linn Grove from Sweden, he worked as a farm laborer for a few years, after which he began farming for himself. In 1909, he, together with his family, moved from Linn Grove to Little Falls, where he continued to farm for another fourteen years until 1923. Then, the family moved to Albert City, where he had since resided.

Last October, his health began to fail and since then he grew steadily weaker until he departed this life to be with the Lord at 7:15 Monday evening, April 4, 1932, at the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 23 days. During these months of sickness, he had been tenderly cared for by his loving wife and son, Edwin.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, and two sons: Genus P. and Edwin O., of Albert City, Mrs. Walter Mattson, of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Paul Baber, of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Jesse Shrader, also of Denver, Colorado; three sisters in this country, Mrs. Chas. Nicholson, of Havelock, Iowa, Mrs. Linus Strand, of Escalon, California, and Mrs. P. A. Nelson, of Hawley, together with a sister and brother in Sweden, and a large host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

Mr. Beckman accepted Christ as his personal Saviour in the early nineties while yet residing at Linn Grove. He had since then walked in fellowship with the Saviour and in faith which carried him through trials and testings and ushered him into the presence of the Lord with great peace and assurance. He knew on whom he had believed and was persuaded that He was able to keep that which he had committed unto Him against that day.

In the spring of 1923, Mr. Beckman affiliated himself with the Evangelical Free church of Albert City where he had remained as a loyal member and supporter, attending the services regularly until he no longer could because of his failing health.

Now he is gone and he shall be missed in home, church, and community. However, let us not sorrow as others which have no hope.

Peace by [sic] to his memory.

Funeral services were held from the house and from the Evangelical Free church Friday afternoon, and interment followed at the Fairfield cemetery with Rev. Arthur Peterson officiating.
