September 24, 1963 - January 29, 2016

Julie J. Wadsley, age 52, of Alta, Iowa, died on January 29, 2016, at her home.

A daughter of Roger and Ann (Schmidt) Strock, Julie was born on September 24, 1963, in Storm Lake, Iowa. As a young girl, she liked visiting her grandparents’ farm and roller skating every weekend with her best friend. In addition, she loved animals, especially cats. An active member of her high school orchestra where she played the violin, she, also, participated in the Girl Scouts all through school as well as in Sunday school and youth group activities.

Julie loved the outdoors, especially going on walks and camping. She enjoyed listening to rock music and collecting angel ornaments and teddy bears. Most of all, however, she loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandson, Eligh.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jeremy Wadsley, of Fort Bliss, Texas, and Amberlee (Michael Rodriguez) Galvin, of Alta, Iowa, her grandson, Eligh Rodriguez, of Alta, Iowa; her mother, Ann Strock, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her brother, Scott Strock, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her sister, Nancy (Duane) Eiklenborg, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; her nephew, Kory Dean, and his family of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; her nieces, Niki Anderson, and her family also of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, and Cassie Struthers, and her family of Russell, Minnesota; her aunt, Jan Curry, and her family; and her uncles: Russell, Leroy, Gary, and Mark Schmidt and their families; as well as extended family members and friends.

Julie was preceded in death by her father, Roger Strock; and her grandparents, Alfred and Grace Strock and Lyle and Marnie Schmidt.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
