Marcia Iehl, age 82, of Storm Lake, Iowa, formerly of Albert City, Iowa, died on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake

Marcia Leone Binder, a daughter of Lawrence and Anna (Malcolm) Binder, was born in Oak Hill, Kansas, on September 22, 1932. At the age of ten, Marcia moved with her family to the Rembrandt area where she lived the remainder of her youth and received her education, graduating from the Rembrandt High School. She continued her education at Buena Vista College where she earned her teaching certificate. She taught school in Royal, Iowa, for one year and also substitute taught throughout her lifetime.

Marcia married Richard W. Iehl at the Rembrandt United Methodist Church on August 9, 1953. Subsequently, they were blessed with three children, Sharon, Roger, and Robert. Marcia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, homemaker, grandmother and great grandmother. For the first six months following their marriage, Marcia and Richard resided in Odebolt, Iowa, where Richard worked as the assistant manager of the Odebolt Coop Elevator. They, then, moved to their farm near Rembrandt. After farming their land for thirty-eight years, Richard and Marcia retired, moving to Albert City where they, next, made their home. While retired, they enjoyed spending ten winters in Arizona and traveling to forty-nine states which they truly enjoyed. Richard died on November 23, 2012.

Marcia was currently a member of the Storm Lake United Methodist Church. Nevertheless, while she lived in Albert City, she very actively participated in the Evangelical Covenant Church and its activities. She had many talents including making quilts, playing the baritone horn in the Albert City Community Band, and making brooms for the Threshermen’s Show. In addition, she loved gardening, maintaining her doll collection, and helping with the Albert City Lion’s Club where she became one of the first women members.

Marcia’s life is cherished and celebrated by her family which includes her daughter, Sharon Iehl, of Lakeside, Iowa; her two sons, Roger (Caron) Iehl, of Lakeside, Iowa, and Robert (Cindy) Iehl, of Alta, Iowa; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Brad Iehl; Jason (Anne) Iehl, and their son, Kolten; Brenda (Tim) Wolf, and their sons, Bennett and Daniel; Jamie Iehl, and her fiancé, Martel Green; David (Melissa) Iehl; and Brandon Iehl; her stepson, Adam Wolf; and her brothers, Donald (Margaret) Binder and Floyd (Charlotte) Binder, all of Alta, Iowa; as well as other extended family members and many friends.
