Carolyn Lu Eberle, age 77, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on May 28, 2015, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Carolyn Lu, a daughter of Dewey and Avis (Kelly) Pentico, was born on April 30, 1938, in Storm Lake, Iowa. She was baptized, confirmed, and received her first Communion at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake.

Growing up in Lakeside, she attended Hayes School and was able to experience the heyday of the Cobblestone Ballroom.

On November 24, 1955, Carolyn married Robert F. Eberle in Storm Lake. Subsequently, they were blessed with six children: Tom, Cindy, John, Kelly, Todd, and Jim.

A member of the Moose Lodge, Carolyn played an active role in establishing the American Legion Auxiliary in Storm Lake. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aid and housekeeper. In addition, she worked as a waitress for many years at the Lakeshore Café and Country Kitchen. Before retiring, she washed dishes at the Pantry Café for several years as well.

In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed playing cards, bowling, going to casinos with friends, and taking motorcycle trips with her husband, Bob. In her younger years, she loved roller-skating. In addition, she, always, looked forward to and enjoyed the yearly Pentico Reunions. Whenever there was a potluck, she could be counted on for bringing the buns. She treasured the time she spent with her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Tom “Toad” Eberle, of Spencer, Iowa, Cindy Scott, of Storm Lake, Iowa, John Eberle, of Alta, Iowa, Kelly Eberle (Bill Brown), of Storm Lake, Iowa, Todd (Lisa) Eberle, of Temecula, California, and Jim (Dawn) Eberle, of Albert City, Iowa; her grandchildren: Geoff Eddie; Joshua and Justin Phillips; Derek Fedkenheuer; Zachary and Alyssa Eberle; and Anthony, Casey, Christian, Dallas, and Dalton Eberle; two great grandchildren: Caleb and Berlin Phillips; one brother, Jim Pentico, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and her sister-in-law, Bernice Jones, of Tustin, California; as well as extended family members and many friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Eberle, and her sister-in-law, Jean Pentico.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 2, 2015, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
