Evelyn Louise Rose Tigges
June 19, 1919 - April 16, 2013

Evelyn Louise Rose Tigges, daughter of Otto and Sophie (Kappelmann) Koch, was born on June 19, 1919, in Washington, Missouri. After moving to Iowa, she spent her childhood near Paullina where she received her education.

Evelyn married Chester Tigges on June 30, 1941, in Coleridge, Nebraska. They made their home on a farm in rural Brooke Township near Peterson all of their married life. Following Chester's death in 1989, she continued living on the farm until she moved to Hillside Terrace in Spencer in December of 2006. An active member of St. John's Church in rural Peterson, she enjoyed gardening, baking, and helping out as a farm wife.

Evelyn passed away at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa, on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by his parents; her brother, Raymond; and her sisters, Arlene and Verna.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Dale, of Peterson; her daughter, Sharon, and her husband, Rod Peters, of Dubuque, Iowa; three grandchildren: Mike Walz, and his three children: Matthew, and his wife, Kassie, Michael and his wife, Hannah, and Mallory; Jeff Walz, and his wife, Holly, and their two children: Mitchell and Danielle; and Michelle Stefani, and her two children: Skyler and Trevor; as well as other relatives and friends.

SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 19, 2013, at St. John's Church in Rural Peterson.

OFFICIATING: Pastor John Syvertson

CASKET BEARERS: Mike Walz, Jeff Walz, Skyler Stefani, Trevor Stefani, Michelle Stefani, Holly Walz

HONORARY BEARERS: Iris Kracht and Kathy and Gary Brees

VISITATION: Visitation will begin at 3:30 P.M., Thursday, with the family present from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M., Thursday Evening, at the Warner Funeral Home in Peterson.

MUSIC: "Rock of Ages," "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," By The Congregation

ORGANIST: Lu Ann Smith

INTERMENT: St. John's Cemetery, Rural Peterson, Iowa

A lunch and time of fellowship will be held at the church immediately following the graveside service.

A memorial fund has been established to be given to St. John's Church in rural Peterson.
