Hongthong Laksamee, age 57, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Hongthong was born on June 15, 1956, in Laos. In 1980, he married Paeng Laksamee in Thailand. They were blessed with two children, Boualong and Bounchan.

Hongthong served in the military while living in Laos.

Hongthong and Paeng moved to the United States. He became a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

In his spare time, Hongthong enjoyed fishing and hunting. Most of all, however, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Paeng Laksamee, of Storm Lake, Iowa; his son, Bounchan (Sai Xiong) Laksamee, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and their son, Benjamin Laksamee; as well as extended family members and friends.

Hongthong was preceded in death by his daughter, Boualong Laksamee.

Visitation: 4:00-6:00 p.m. April 11, 2014, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., April 12, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
