Ruth M. Miller, age 86, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Monday, March 10, 2014, at her home in Storm Lake.

Ruth Mary Clymer, the daughter of Roy and Josephine (Ellis) Clymer, was born in Lytton, Iowa, on May 19, 1927. She lived her youth in the Lytton community and graduated from Lytton High School before moving with her family to Fonda.

On December 19, 1945, Ruth married Marion W. Miller in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They were blessed with one daughter, Patricia.

Ruth and Marion lived their lives in the Storm Lake. Employed first at Otto Furniture, Marion, later, worked at the Villager and Lakeshore Restaurants. She enjoyed working at the Villager. Moreover, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

Ruth was a faithful member of the United Church of Christ in Storm Lake. Active in her community, she assisted with the Storm Lake Senior Citizens Organization and visited residents at the local nursing homes. Her special hobbies included reading, bowling, fishing, and playing cards. She, also, enjoyed going to auctions, camping, getting together with the “Golden Girls” at the condo, and participating in her Lakeshore coffees and lunches every Friday and Saturday. Most of all, however, she enjoyed socializing with her family and friends.

Ruth’s life will always be loved and cherished by her family which includes her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Dave Lange, of Storm Lake, Iowa; two grandchildren, Lesa (Kyle) Eddie and Todd (Barb) Lange, also of Storm Lake, Iowa; her great grandchildren: A.J. Smith (fiancée, Katelyn Larson), MacKenzie Smith, Jenna (Jordan) Hinkeldey, Chase, Parker, and Kylee Lange, and Dallas and Lance (Christine) Eddie; one great great grandchild, Nash Eddie; and her sister, Rita Knights, of Storm Lake, Iowa, her very best friend ever; as well as extended family members and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Miller; her parents, Roy and Josephine Clymer; five brothers: Bill, Ralph, LeRoy, Cecil, and LeRoy Clymer; one sister, Helen Clymer; a grandson, Brad Smith; and a stepbrother, Sam Simpson.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., March 13, 2014, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., March 14, 2014, at the United Church of Christ in Storm Lake.
Interment: March 14, 2014, at Storm Lake Cemetery.
