Clayton Peterson
November 15, 1937 - March 16, 2005

Clayton Peterson passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in Casa Grande County, Arizona, at the age of sixty-seven years, four months, and one day.

Clayton Lewis Peterson was born on November 15, 1937, in Cherokee to Clarence and Emma (Grienke) Peterson. After graduating from Fairview Consolidated Schools at Alta, he began farming with his father. During the 1960s, he joined the Iowa National Guard.

On March 7, 1971, he married Linda Schultz in rural Alta. The couple farmed north of Alta until they retired in 1992. They spent their winters in Casa Grande, Arizona. Linda passed away on January 10, 2002.

An active member of Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake, Clayton had also served as an elder and trustee of the Center Grove Evangelical Free Church of Alta. Church was very important to both Clayton and his wife.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; and an infant daughter.

He is survived by his son, David Peterson, of Alta; his brother, Myron Peterson, and his wife, Estelle, of Lake Havasu, Arizona; and his sister, Lorraine Ernst, and her husband, Gene, of Victoria, Minnesota.

Funeral services for Clayton Peterson were held on Monday, March 21, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake with Pastor Jim Hofman and Pastor Randal Anderson officiating. Burial was in Elk Township Cemetery, Alta.
