William "Bill" Rentsch
December 6, 1971 - April 23, 2013

William "Bill" Rentsch, age 41, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at his home in Sioux Rapids.

William Robert Rentsch, the son of Richard and Doris (McCall) Rentsch, was born in Spencer, Iowa, on December 6, 1971. He spent his youth in the Webb and Sioux Rapids vicinity. A graduate of Sioux Rapids-Rembrandt High School, he continued his education at Iowa State University in Ames where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.

Bill married Jennifer Harrison on August 19, 1995, in Ruthven, Iowa. They were blessed with two daughters, Emily and Abigail. For seven years, Bill served as editor of the Farm News in Fort Dodge while residing in Manson. In 1994, they moved to the Sioux Rapids and Webb area where Bill farmed for many years. In addition, he began a construction business in 1995 which he operated until the present time.

Bill enjoyed spending time outdoors, golfing, fishing, and snowmobiling. He was gifted in woodworking, and he enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He, however, especially enjoyed the hours he spent fishing and snowmobiling with his daughters.

He was loved very deeply by his family which includes his two daughters, Emily and Abby Rentsch, of Rembrandt, Iowa; his mother, Doris Rentsch, of Spencer, Iowa; his brother, Walt (Teresa) Rentsch, of Tabor, South Dakota; and his sister, Karen (Scott) Roe, of Marengo, Iowa; as well as nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; other extended family members; and many friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Church in Sioux Rapids. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
