Alfred Carbaugh, age 92, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Alfred Harold Carbaugh was born on February 17, 1920, in Denison, Iowa, the son of John and Amanda Carbaugh. He graduated from Mondamin High School.
Having enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II, Alfred proudly served his country. On June 25, 1950, he married Darlene Perrin in Moorhead, Iowa. This union was blessed with two children: John and Ivan.
Alfred was employed by Hygrade until it closed in October of 1981. He, then, worked for Roth Ready Mix and Wetherell Trucking until he retired.
Alfred especially enjoyed meeting with friends and visiting over a cup of coffee. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty-two years, Darlene Carbaugh, of Storm Lake; his sons: John Carbaugh, of Storm Lake, and Ivan Carbaugh, of Springfield, Oregon; his grandchildren: Katelyn and Kristina Carbaugh, of Storm Lake, and Janine (Scott) Reynolds, of Oklahoma; three great grandchildren: Crystal, Shaun, and Andy; two sisters-in-law, Beula (Creighton) Millard, of Storm Lake, and Vida (Jerry) Clark, of Bancroft, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews; and longtime special family friends, Carol (Roger) Spooner and Bud (Cleona) Wilson, both of Mondamin, Iowa; as well as extended family and many friends.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Fannie, Vivian, and Evelyn; one brother, Alvin; his parents-in-law: John and Grace Perrin; and his sister-in-law, Lila Perrin.
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., February 18, 2013, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m., February 19, 2013, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
