Agnes Petersen Nelson
February 8, 1887 - November 1, 1952

Mrs. Nels Nelson, 65, died Saturday, November 1, 1952, at the Alta Memorial Hospital. Services were held Monday at the Elk Baptist Church, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Agnes Petersen was born in Blairsburg, Iowa, on February 8, 1887, to Mr. and Mrs. Hans C. Petersen. She married Nels Nelson February 25, 1911, in Elk Township. They were blessed with five children. They lived on their farm in Elk Township until 1947 when they moved to Alta. She is survived by her husband and five children: Woodrow, of Rochester, Minnesota, Alvin, of Chicago, Floyd, of Cedar Falls, Ruth (Mrs. Delmer) Ross, of Arlington, South Dakota, and Bernadine (Mrs. Wayne) Gaston, of Aurelia; five brothers: Axel, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Harvey, of Los Angeles, Harold, of Cedar Falls, Sigurt, of Hemet, California, Edwin, of Chicago, Emma (Mrs. Charles) Hansen of Cedar Falls, Lillian (Mrs. Melvin) Hansen, of Harvey, Illinois, and Florence (Mrs. Charles) Davies, of Los Angeles; five grandsons and nine granddaughters (abstract, Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune, 11-6-1952).
