ANGIER, HINDE, CARGES, AMES

Funeral services for Ira C. Angier were held from the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. F. Earl Burges officiating. Interment was in the Buena Vista Park cemetery under the auspices of the Hughes Funeral home.

Bearers were Ed Heikens, Frank O'Malley, Phil Jaragin, Z.Z. White, Kenneth Cole and James Prichard.

Mr. Angier had been in failing health for some time and was taken to a local hospital just a few days before his demise on Wednesday morning, Feb. 18.

Ira C. Angier, son of Ida and Eugene Angier, was born August 20, 1870, at Guyard [sic - Giard], in Clayton county, Iowa.

In 1874 the Angier family moved west to Sac county, and settled on a homestead a few miles from Schaller. In 1887 he moved with his parents to Storm Lake where he attended school and farmed.

January 11, 1899, he was united in marriage to Bertha Olive Hinde and moved back to the homestead near Schaller, residing there until the spring of 1911. They then returned to live on the farm west of Storm Lake.

Ira was a lifetime member of the Methodist church and for a number of years an officer in the men's Bible class. He was also active in the men's council.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Ida Carges and Mrs. Lorraine Ames.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Olive; two sons, Arthur Burton of Webster City and Robert William of Storm Lake; three grandchildren, Barbara Ellen and Jan Elizabeth, daughters of Robert; and Deborah Kay, daughter of Arthur; two brothers, George S. Angier of Storm Lake and Guy E. Angier of Correctionville, other relatives and many friends.
