Hazel Odella Hays, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Frank Hays, was born in Cable, Illinois on November 5th, 1902; she was christened at six months of age in the congregational church at the same place. Here she spent her early childhood days with her parents and later moved to this vicinity where shoe has been at her grandmother's home, Mrs. Emma Johnson until her death. After but a week's illness she passed to the great beyond, to be with her Lord forever, December 11, 1911 at 3:00 p. m. at the age of nine years, one month and six days. The bereaved ones are her parents, one brother, her grandmother, four aunts, six uncles, a number of cousins and a host of friends. The funeral was held from the home of her grandmother at 12:30 and from the Free Church at 2:00 p.m. Thursday. Interment in the Fairfield cemetery. Rev. Albert W. Carlson of the Free Church conducted the services.
