Luis Moran, age 75, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Luis Moran, a son of Luis and Epimenia (Martinez), was born in San Pedro, Coahuila, Mexico, on February 5, 1944. He lived his youth and received his education in Mexico.

On January 14, 1969, Luis married Guadalupe Lopez, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Subsequently, they were blessed with four children: Thelma, Sylvia, Belia, and Jose Angel. Luis and Guadalupe resided in Mexico where he worked with furniture delivery. In 1980, they moved to Laredo, Texas. In 1991, they came to make their home in Storm Lake. For a brief time, Luis worked at Bil-Mar Foods. For the past fifteen years, however, he collected scrap metal.

Luis attended the Hispanic worship services at Hope Evangelical Free Church. He enjoyed fishing, fixing bicycles, and collecting recyclable cans and scrap metal.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Guadalupe, of Storm Lake; his children: Thelma Russo, of Laredo, Texas, and Sylvia Cedillo, Belia Renteria, and Jose Angel Moran, all of Storm Lake, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; as well as by other extended family members and friends. Luis was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4, 2019, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the CHURCH. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
