June 15, 1943 - October 2, 2018Beverly Kay Jorgensen, age 75, passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, in Newell, Iowa.
Beverly, a daughter of Orval and Macyl (Bodholdt) Hamann, was born on June 15, 1943 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Baptized and later confirmed at the Nain Lutheran Church in Newell, she remained a lifelong member. Growing up, she attended Providence Consolidated School in Sulphur Springs, Iowa. Then, on January 11, 1958, she married Robert Krog Jorgensen at the Nain Lutheran Church. Subsequently, they were blessed with four children: Steven, Shawn, Staci, and Sian. Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time with family and receiving visits from friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert K. Jorgensen, of Newell, Iowa; her children: Steven C. Jorgensen, of Newell, Iowa, Shawn D. Jorgensen, of Aviston, Illinois, Staci (Kirk) Kampwerth, of Highland, Illinois, and Sian (Kevin) Butler, of Hudson, Iowa; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren: Ryan (Kristine) Jorgensen and Carter, Addelynn, and Chase, all of Highland, Illinois, Justin (Jessica) Jorgensen and Gavin, Alexis, and August, all of Eglin AFB, Florida, Jason (Chelsie) Jorgensen and Brynnlee and Brecklyn, also all of Highland, Illinois, Meghan Jorgensen, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Shane Lyman and Matthew, Charlee Jo, and Beau, all of Troy, Illinois, Shanda Lyman (Jerry Gogolowski) and Kurt, all of Meadowbrook, Illinois, Julia Butler and Aden, of New Hartford, Iowa; and Brittany Butler, of Parkersburg, Iowa; her sister, Colleen (Tom) Wall, of Waterloo, Iowa; her sister-in-law, Janene “Tootie” (Larry) Grote; and her brothers-in-law: Keith (Kathy) and Ronald (Molly) Jorgensen; and Dean (Linda) Garner; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Macyl Hamann; her brother, Kenneth (Maureen) Hamann; her sister, Kristine Garner; and her parents-in-law, Oscar and Elda Jorgensen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nain Lutheran Church in Newell. Burial will follow in the Newell Cemetery. Visitation will take place Friday, October 5, 2018, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Nain Lutheran church or Kruize for Kidz or a charity of the donor’s choice. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
