June 27, 1960 - July 15, 2018

Nancy Steward, age 58, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Sunday, July 15, 2018, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

A daughter of Berneta and Vernon Dunham, Sr., Nancy was born on June 27, 1960, in Jefferson, Iowa. She attended both elementary and high school at South O’Brien and then furthered her education at nursing school.

A member of the Methodist Church in Storm Lake, she married Thomas Steward there on February 4, 1984. Their union was blessed with three children: Thomas, David, and James.

Nancy enjoyed spending time with family, especially spoiling her grandsons as well as pampering with her daughters-in-law. She, also, loved playing with her chihuahuas, shopping, wearing jewelry, and choosing clothes, but her greatest pleasure came from her role as a mom.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Thomas Steward, of Storm Lake; her children, David (Edie) Cole Steward, of Kansas City, Missouri, and James (Alanna) Steward, of Havelock, Iowa; her brother, Vernon Dunham, Jr., of Paulina, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Caden Brummer and Austin Steward. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon, Sr., and Berneta Dunham; and her son, Thomas Steward.

Memorial services will take place Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at the Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the Storm Lake Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
